MAKE Matte & Dew...

MAKE Matte & Dew...

So excited to have found this "MAKE Matte&Dew". It is extremely unique compared to any thing I have in my makeup bag. This product is specifically for the purse, for you ladies who are out and about or have a really busy night life. This is the IDEAL product to throw in your bag if you ever feel like as the night goes on your makeup gets greasy or your face looks dull. There is the left "Matte" side of the palette that is essentially a gel type substance that squelches all oil that you might have. You can use your fingers to pat it onto areas that are shiny that shouldn't be, like the center of your forehead or the part of your cheeks (closer to the nose)that tend to get oily. Then, the "Dew"you can strategically place anywhere that you do want a glowy shine, like the top of your cheekbones, down the center of your nose, the cupids bow of your lips and a little bit above the outer top edge of your eyebrows. These pictures show just how well the glow works, and I used the Matte for the center of my forehead which you can see looks powdered. Even better, ten percent of the proceeds go to non-profit organizations that help women owned businesses, and it is also made in NYC. Will not clog pores either.Buy it here for 27$.

Wen Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner- 32$

Wen Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner

Ahhh, all the hype for the WEN Sweet Almond Mint CLeansing Conditioner was right! I absolutely loved how my hair felt after using this. NO heaviness or oily greasy feel. This product does contain amodimethicone, which is a silicone but I read this really interesting article about it, and it seems that it's a very good quality silicone that can benefit people with really brittle dry hair. My hair ended up having some nice shine and bounce to it, which was strange, because I don't normally have bounce, and my hair has gotten SO long as of late which would negate bounce! This product markets itself that you can go even longer without washing your hair. I actually noticed that after three days, my hair didn't feel as dirty as it normally would at that point. My one HUGE negative with this product is that the directions call for like 70000 pumps (like over 15) if you have long hair. WHAT? And you literally can't go with less because the spreadability of the product is not that great so you NEED the extra. Sigh...wellll 34 $ would be the cost of a pretty good shampoo and conditioner together, but I can't see this lasting too long. I do recommend it though! You will be pleasantly surprised with how great it works to cleanse and condition at the same time.

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15....Reviews & Pics

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15....Reviews & Pics

I have had these Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15 lip balms for a while now and love them. I figured I would show the different colors on, just because I personally found that they look nothing like the color of the tube when they are applied. My favorite is the Rose color. They have such an amazing almost shiny balmy consistency and smell like sugar and lemons. The tubes are metal and weighted, which gives them a luxurious feel. I just love having one of these in my purse on the go. They are 22.50 each..a little expensive for a tinted lip balm. I definitely want to try the Plum and Passion colors as well! You can find them here.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette...Review and Pictures.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette

I recently got this AMAZing coupon from Sephora, so I ordered the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette with it. Mind you, I Do not even own one or two!!! I just felt like these colors were different enough from the shades I have with all the palettes I have lying around. I have wayyy to many browns and wanted to switch things up a bit. I absolutely LOVE the shades in this palette. They definitely have PINKISH undertones to them, which can sortof look like you bruised your eye (done wrong), but worn the right way (as in NOT all the way up to your brow bone), I feel like they are gorgeous. My Current color favorites from the palette are Buzz(a shimmery pinkish purple), Burnout(more of a pearl version of the Buzz color), Liar(a really gorgeous taupe with slightly pink/purple undertones) Factory(a darker taupe), Mugshot(purply pinkish taupe colors), Darkside(a dark purply taupe) and Blackheart(the dark purply black color), great along the lower lash line.

All in all, I'm extremely happy with this purchase, and once I do more looks with it I will share through this post. I just wanted to show you the preliminary testing of the colors. I really do think any eye color could pull this off. I thought maybe it wasn't suitable for brown eyes because of such strong pink almost red undertones, but honestly the purple in the colors really does help to bring out the yellow in brown eyes (Seeing as they are contrasting colors) so they really do look great with brown eyes. I also think blue eyes might be even better for this palette! :) :) :).

The Ideal Brush Cleaning System...

The Ideal Brush Cleaning System

Can I just say that this Parian Spirit Brush cleaning system might be one of my favorite cosmetic purchases ever? I honestly don't even know how I lived without this system. I was in the habit of washing my brushes at least once every other week or so with baby shampoo, but this makes it sooo much easier to clean them as often as I want without a huge hassle. Even better, the solution that is used to clean them is food grade and non-toxic. It smells like delicious oranges, and the whole room smells pleasant after I use it. Also, my brushes are impossibly shiny and soft after cleaning them. I really am a freak about beauty tools and have bought some really great brushes that I want to take care of better so that they last. Here is what Beautylish.com says about Parian Spirit Brush Cleaning system:

"The Parian Spirit Brush Cleaning System contains everything you need to clean your brushes under any circumstance. The 2 oz. spray bottle is ideal for moment-to-moment cleaning while in the middle of makeup application and the perfect size for travel. The Parian Spirit Jar allows you to keep your brush cleaner handy without carrying a large bottle and the 8 oz. bottle gives you the ability to refill both. Use in combination or grab the one you need in any circumstance.

Parian Spirit is made from citrus spirits and food grade solvents, giving it powerful cleaning properties designed to gently clean, condition and disinfect fine brush hair. This cleaner dissolves all types of makeup products including powder, liquids, wax-based products and adhesives. It conditions brushes as it cleans and is quick-drying. The orange scent comes from the natural orange oils used in the formula. It is non-toxic."

I love the jar that contains a mesh type plastic grate that gives the brushes some friction when you rub the bristles across the grate. OK that probably made no sense so here is a great demo you can watch. SO worth the 23$ for the whole system. Get it onbeautylish.com, one of my favorite new sites for beauty purchases. They usually have free shipping for purchases over 35$, which is great! Also, I love when I get packages from them. They are wrapped so beautifully, and they always include a sweet hand written note. It really is the details that count, and they get it!

New Favorite Cleansers....

New Favorite Cleansers

I have finally found an extremely affordable GREEN paraben & Sulfate free cleanser that I LOVE. Say hello to the "Yes to Carrots Fragrance Free Daily Cream Facial Cleanser- 6.99$"...which they even made fragrance free recently. I personally like the carroty scent of the original version, so it's cheap enough that I actually have both versions. I have been using this cleanser for about 6 months now and am hooked based on price and efficacy. The best thing about this cleanser is that if I use a wash rag and hot water and lay it on my face a few times after applying the cleanser, it really wipes off all of my makeup without drying out my skin. It doesn't remove my eye makeup(which is a good thing because then it would be stripping my skin), so I have actually been using RMS Raw Coconut Cream which is pure coconut oil to remove my eye makeup at night, and it works brilliantly. I just rub it together on my fingers until it warms up and then apply it to my eye area. I then take this microfiber mitt and it literally removes every trace of eye makeup. If any of you are still going to bed wearing eye makeup, HUGE no no!! I yell at my sisters every time I see them about this stuff haha.

The Microfiber mitt is 5.99$

and it works awesome.

ALSO, if you are looking for a scrub, you can always mix granulated sugar with the Yes to Carrots Daily Cream Facial Cleanser and you have just saved yourself some serious $.

If you are wanting to spend a LITERAL fortune on a green cleanser, well...here is one I have tested recently as well just with a generous sample from Sephora. I kind of wanted to eat it, it smelled so good...UGH. 75$. The reason it is so expensive is that Tata Harper actually grows her own plants that go into all her products and the batches are handmade and always only a month old at purchase at most (according to Sephora Rep). It also smells tangy, kind of like a sweet tangerine...I would get excited to wake up in the morning and wash my face if I actually decided to buy this, buuuut I jusssttt can't justify this. I'll stick to my 7$ Cleanser that works just fine. If you have money to throw around, then this is it! It has small exfoliants in it as well that scrub just enough that you don't feel dry after cleansing.

Tarte Colored Clay 2 in 1 SPF 15 Foundcealer- 35.18$ with brush

Tarte Colored Clay 2 in 1 SPF 15 Foundcealer- 35.18$ with brush

According to QVC:
"What is it: A unique 2-in-1 formula that works as both your foundation and concealer.

Who is it for: Anyone who wants the versatility and combined benefits of a foundation and concealer in one product.

Why is it different: tarte combines the coverage of a concealer with a lightweight, blendable foundation! Infused with colored clay for skin care and color-correcting benefits, this revolutionary Foundcealer will deliver full coverage and a natural-looking finish similar to tarte's best-selling Amazonian clay foundation while working overtime as a full-coverage concealer. Purple, green, yellow, and red clay work together to help conceal, brighten, protect, cover redness, and diffuse the look of dark circles and imperfections all at once.

How do I use it: Using the smaller end of the double-ended bamboo brush, pat Foundcealer under eyes and around nose to conceal dark circles and redness. Then flip the brush and use the larger side to apply as foundation by buffing in soft circular motions to blend and buff away imperfections, creating an airbrush-like finish."

My Recent Green Beauty Product Winners....

My Recent Green Beauty Product Winners

I have had the opportunity to try some of these recently through samples obtained making other purchases...and I was impressed by all of them. I have a TON of other samples sitting in my closet that I have either tried and hated or forgotten about that I get from checking out on certain websites and what not. I picked out a few of my Green Favorites, for all the people out there that are looking for chemical free face products.

Kahina Giving Beauty Brightening Serum-72$: This is a really amazing serum that does a great job giving the skin a healthy glow. It contains a few ingredients worth mentioning, such as Lactobacillus Ferment, Argan Oil, Shea Butter Oil, and Algae Extract. The lactobacillus ferment is basically a probiotic for the skin, which is amazing seeing as probiotics are healthy bacteria that actually help ward off bad bacteria. I really loved the sample I got of this and was sad when it ran out.

Ilia Beauty Illuminator in Polka Dots & Moon Beams- 34$: I just love the name of this product...and have read enough rave reviews on it to give it a thumbs up. I would compare it to the RMS Beauty Illuminator, except that it is 4 dollars cheaper and comes in slightly better packaging for Illuminating the right areas bc you can apply it directly to the skin.

RMS Beauty Oil-74$: This oil is beyond amazing. I have been on a mission to find a great face oil as of late and this one has been the one that I have wanted to keep reaching for. I received a good size sample of it and was able to really give it a good try. It is expensive mind you, but has some really amazing ingredients, and you wouldn't believe how SOFT it makes your skin. UGH I wish it wasn't so expensive. It is Formulated with antioxidant, vitamin-rich exotic oils such as Buriti, Jojoba, Rose Hip and Tamanu, as well as rare herbal extracts including Ashwagandha and St. John’s Wort. The smell is funky...It kind of smelled like stale nuts with a slight Vanilla Extract fragrance..but I read that this is what it is supposed to smell like. I actually didn't mind it and the payoff with how my skin looked and felt after was worth it.

Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask-55$: If you are trying to go all green with your cosmetics, here is the ultimate of ultimates. Tata Harper has a farm in Vermont and grows pretty much all the ingredients that she incorporates into her products. How amazing is that? I think her products are extremely expensive but this mask was somewhat more fairly priced. I got a sample of it through Sephora and have been able to get 4 uses out of one little packet. Ummm...the more I used this, the more I liked it. There is a definite glow that you get almost immediately after you wash it off, which is weird because it's not a strong acidic peel. It is actually very gentle, even gentle enough to use daily I would imagine. AHA! Lactobacillus Ferment is one of the main ingredients; interesting seeing as it is also an ingredient in the Kahina Serum. Those probiotics are popping up everywhere! This jar should last for a long time because a tiny bit goes a long way. It feels kind of like jelly in the jar, doesn't sting upon application and dries to a kind of sticky shiny glaze on your skin. It washes off very easy, and you should give it about 30 minutes. Love it!

A Quick Eyelash Discovery...

A Quick Eyelash Discovery

About a month ago, I switched back to my Covergirl Lashblast Mascara in very black because I ran out of some of my more expensive mascaras. Something very amazing happened to my eyelashes. They have been kind of sparse looking lately, but honestly I feel like they are back to being long and full within a short amount of time. I think I know why! This mascara washes off right when you put warm water on your eyelashes. You honestly don't even need eye makeup remover to get the mascara off your actual eyelashes. All you need is to clean up around the eye after washing your face to remove the eye makeup that stuck around after washing your face. This really must reduce the amount of breakage that could happen with other formulas that are harder to wash off. I have decided this will be my every day mascara, and for weekends or events I will use something else if I am looking for something more. Just thought I would share!!
