The Ideal Brush Cleaning System...

The Ideal Brush Cleaning System

Can I just say that this Parian Spirit Brush cleaning system might be one of my favorite cosmetic purchases ever? I honestly don't even know how I lived without this system. I was in the habit of washing my brushes at least once every other week or so with baby shampoo, but this makes it sooo much easier to clean them as often as I want without a huge hassle. Even better, the solution that is used to clean them is food grade and non-toxic. It smells like delicious oranges, and the whole room smells pleasant after I use it. Also, my brushes are impossibly shiny and soft after cleaning them. I really am a freak about beauty tools and have bought some really great brushes that I want to take care of better so that they last. Here is what Beautylish.com says about Parian Spirit Brush Cleaning system:

"The Parian Spirit Brush Cleaning System contains everything you need to clean your brushes under any circumstance. The 2 oz. spray bottle is ideal for moment-to-moment cleaning while in the middle of makeup application and the perfect size for travel. The Parian Spirit Jar allows you to keep your brush cleaner handy without carrying a large bottle and the 8 oz. bottle gives you the ability to refill both. Use in combination or grab the one you need in any circumstance.

Parian Spirit is made from citrus spirits and food grade solvents, giving it powerful cleaning properties designed to gently clean, condition and disinfect fine brush hair. This cleaner dissolves all types of makeup products including powder, liquids, wax-based products and adhesives. It conditions brushes as it cleans and is quick-drying. The orange scent comes from the natural orange oils used in the formula. It is non-toxic."

I love the jar that contains a mesh type plastic grate that gives the brushes some friction when you rub the bristles across the grate. OK that probably made no sense so here is a great demo you can watch. SO worth the 23$ for the whole system. Get it onbeautylish.com, one of my favorite new sites for beauty purchases. They usually have free shipping for purchases over 35$, which is great! Also, I love when I get packages from them. They are wrapped so beautifully, and they always include a sweet hand written note. It really is the details that count, and they get it!

New Favorite Cleansers....

New Favorite Cleansers

I have finally found an extremely affordable GREEN paraben & Sulfate free cleanser that I LOVE. Say hello to the "Yes to Carrots Fragrance Free Daily Cream Facial Cleanser- 6.99$"...which they even made fragrance free recently. I personally like the carroty scent of the original version, so it's cheap enough that I actually have both versions. I have been using this cleanser for about 6 months now and am hooked based on price and efficacy. The best thing about this cleanser is that if I use a wash rag and hot water and lay it on my face a few times after applying the cleanser, it really wipes off all of my makeup without drying out my skin. It doesn't remove my eye makeup(which is a good thing because then it would be stripping my skin), so I have actually been using RMS Raw Coconut Cream which is pure coconut oil to remove my eye makeup at night, and it works brilliantly. I just rub it together on my fingers until it warms up and then apply it to my eye area. I then take this microfiber mitt and it literally removes every trace of eye makeup. If any of you are still going to bed wearing eye makeup, HUGE no no!! I yell at my sisters every time I see them about this stuff haha.

The Microfiber mitt is 5.99$

and it works awesome.

ALSO, if you are looking for a scrub, you can always mix granulated sugar with the Yes to Carrots Daily Cream Facial Cleanser and you have just saved yourself some serious $.

If you are wanting to spend a LITERAL fortune on a green cleanser, well...here is one I have tested recently as well just with a generous sample from Sephora. I kind of wanted to eat it, it smelled so good...UGH. 75$. The reason it is so expensive is that Tata Harper actually grows her own plants that go into all her products and the batches are handmade and always only a month old at purchase at most (according to Sephora Rep). It also smells tangy, kind of like a sweet tangerine...I would get excited to wake up in the morning and wash my face if I actually decided to buy this, buuuut I jusssttt can't justify this. I'll stick to my 7$ Cleanser that works just fine. If you have money to throw around, then this is it! It has small exfoliants in it as well that scrub just enough that you don't feel dry after cleansing.
